Vintage Book – The Fireman, Fire Departments of The United States. Very rare, the book published about firefighting in the United States. Copyright 1858. Published in Boston, MA in 1958. Contains full accounts of large fires, statistics of losses and expenses, and information on most of the fire departments of major cities of the period. Departments include Boston, New York, Philadelphia, New Orleans, and more. Illustrated with many engravings. Book is in fairly good shape for the age. Pages and binding intact, however, cloth cover does have some damage as shown in the photo. Some pages have light staining, but are very readable. Hardcover. Condition is reflected in the price.
