Grumman also produced fire apparatus from 1976 to 1982. In 1976, Grumman acquired Howe Fire Apparatus of Anderson, Indiana with its two subsidiaries the Oren-Roanoke Corp. and Coast Fire Apparatus. Grumman soon became a major player in the fire apparatus industry. Within a short time, Grumman was churning out enough rigs to place it among the top four manufacturers in the USA. Grumman introduced innovation and space-age technology to the fire apparatus industry.
